September - Anything Goes with Celebrations option

Good Morning, we hope you are ready to get stamping again as it's time for our September challenge which is......

Anything Goes with a Celebrations option

If you go for the Celebrations option it can be any Celebration, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Christmas and many more. Please remember the focal element of your entry must be hand stamped as our preference (or digital). We still see a few entries where either stencils or die cuts are focal which are ineligible so you can check our rules here

This months prizes will be slightly different, there will be a £15 voucher for the winner randomly selected from all entries and the Honeysuckle stamp below for a second winner also selected at random from entries following the Celebrations option.
Chocolate Baroque is a small independent art and craft company, based in the historic market town of Barnard Castle in County Durham in the North-East of England and is owned and run by Lesley and David Wharton.

We design our own range of natural rubber art stamps from hand drawn originals, complemented by typography from Lesley.  The rubber stamps are made in house, by David, to our very exacting quality standards. And nothing gets past his eagle eye!

Can I also take this opportunity to let you know that there is a special challenge happening at Allsorts next Saturday 11th October in recognition of Kath who was a DT here as well as Allsorts.

Zoe joins us again as our Guest Designer and has created a beautiful Wedding card......

Some very sad news

It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that our team mate Kath has died.

As some of you have observed, Kath has been missing from our last few posts, she had been really poorly following a devastating medical diagnosis last month.

I feel fortunate that I was able to chat with her a few times during those weeks and she asked that her crafting friends knew what was happening and her family have now asked that I pass on the news to the crafting world. Sadly I am having to make this posting far sooner than I expected.

Kath was a stamper, starting with a love of Penny Black stamps many years ago, she also enjoyed working with Woodware stamps. More recently she discovered Chocolate Baroque stamps and immediately loved their floral designs. She gained great satisfaction from paper piecing using her ever growing collection of DP’s, over the years she shared many beautiful creations using this technique.

She was an invaluable team member at both Allsorts, We Love Chocolate Baroque and formerly Penny Black challenge. She was always so reliable with work prepared weeks in advance and the first to help out with commenting if another DT was unwell or away. I feel privileged to have know her for many years, met up with her and have her as a good friend.

She will be missed by so many and we send our love and thoughts to her family at this very sad and difficult time.

I will leave you with a few of Kath’s recent cards, the first using CB Canary Bird Rose which she told me was her favourite purchase in a long while.......

We will all miss you so much Kath.

August - Favourite stamps

Morning to you all, we have a new challenge for you and of course the chance to win an A4 stamp sheet or stamps to the same value of your choice from Chocolate Baroque. Our theme is a nice and easy one......

******Favourite Stamps******

Your creation can be for absolutely any occasion, all you need to remember is that the focal element (feature of your creation) must be hand stamped (or digital). You can check out our rules here

There will be two Chocolate Baroque shows on The Craft Store on Friday 6th August at 9am and 1pm, one show will feature two excitingly different A4 stamp sets from new artist Fiona Randall and the second some beautiful Christmas stamps and new seasonal sentiments.

One of our regular entrants Zoe who like all the DT has a penchant for Chocolate Baroque stamps will be joining us as our Guest Designer for the next couple of months, please join us in welcoming her. Here is the card she has created using a favourite Chocolate Baroque A4 stamp set Harlequin Rose......

And more favourite stamps from the Design Team, what a varied selection at that......
